Concert and Pup

Also last weekend, after running the 5K, the boy and I went to the KNCI Country Christmas concert. I got a Groupon deal for $17, we got a lower level seating ticket (normally $48) and a $5 food voucher. We saw Montgomery GentryCraig CampbellThe JaneDear GirlsDanny GokeyThe Janedear Girls, and Attwater. I knew Montgomery Gentry would be great, but I fell in love with Craig Campbell. And the JaneDear Girls rocked. Serious fiddle skills!
He is not high or drunk... I promise he just hates pictures and has issues with his contacts
As if I hadnt done enough yet we took our dog Kyley to Petco to have her picture taken with SANTA!

This all happened before Kyley decided to dig a hole in the backyard causing her nail to completely split. I felt so bad for her. She had a trip to the vet who had to sedate her to cut the nail and wrap it.
So sad and barely awake leaving the vet

later that night :( Still sedated
Soooo tired but soooo cute!

Rewind

So last weekend I ran in my very first 5K! The Jingle Bell Rock'n 5K/10K
First ever race bib :D
The night before I was sooooo excited I layed out everything to make sure I was to go as soon as I woke up.

Santa leg warmers!!
Ashlie and I on the starting line
I finished in 41:36. Not too bad since it was my first race. Since I dont have a Garmin or other fancy watch, I used RunKeeper on my iPhone. It told me after that my first mile was under 11 minutes! I knew I felt great that mile, but I had NO clue that I was running faster than I ever had! Needless to say I did have to walk a bit but all my miles were under 13 minutes. My calves did get tight and hard to run.

As soon as I finished I felt great tho. I was breathing normal and functioning fine with in a minute or two after.  I actually felt like I could probably run a little more. So that has me hopefully and confident that I wont actually during my 1/2 Marathon training that begins in January.

Jingle Bell Rock'n 5K

This Saturday will mark my first race ever. Ive participated in several walks before but never a RUN. I am going to be doing the Jingle Bell Rock'n 5K run in Folsom, CA. Its just a small local race. Apparently its on a along marshes, creeks, and oak woodlands trail. Im a little nervous but really excited. I will be running with my friend Ashlie who is a personal trainer. I am not aiming for any specific "time". I know I will be slow BUT I will be festive! I will definatley post pictures of our fun outfits.
